What Resist stores on your device

Resist keeps your records locally so it can show your history, your streak, and your insights:

• Your habit. Which habit you are quitting (smoking, alcohol, or gambling), your quit date, what it used to cost you per unit, how many units a day, your currency, and an optional goal in days.
• Your craving sessions. When each one started and ended, how long it lasted, whether you resisted or gave in, the intensity you chose, the trigger you tagged, and any note you wrote.
• Your relapses. The date and time, the trigger, the amount, and any note you wrote.
• Your reasons. The motivations you write for yourself, in your own words.
• Your preferences. Haptics, reminder time, milestone alerts, and whether you have finished onboarding.

That is the complete list. None of it identifies you, and none of it ever leaves your iPhone. It is held in a local database inside the app's own storage — there is no iCloud sync, no backup held by us, and no shared storage with other apps.

The charts and milestones you see on the Insights tab are calculated on your iPhone from these records. Nothing is uploaded or processed elsewhere. Your currency is read from your device's regional settings; the app does not look up your location.

Exporting your own data

From the Profile tab you can export everything as a CSV file. It includes your sessions and relapses together with the notes you wrote, and it is handed to the standard iOS share sheet so you can send it wherever you like — Files, Mail, AirDrop, or another app.

Resist never uploads this file. Once you share it, it lives wherever you sent it, under that service's own privacy terms rather than ours.

Reminders and notifications

Resist uses local notifications only. There are no push notifications and no notification server — every reminder is scheduled by the app on your own device. You are asked once, at the end of onboarding, and you can decline. Both kinds can be turned off at any time in the Profile tab.

• The daily check-in is deliberately neutral. It says "How are you doing?" and nothing more.
• Recovery milestones describe what is happening in your body as time passes, so their wording relates to the habit you are quitting. If you show notification previews on your Lock Screen, one of these could hint at that to someone looking at your phone. Turn milestone alerts off if you would rather they didn't.

Free trial and subscription

Resist gives you three days free before asking for anything. The trial is handled inside the app rather than through the App Store, so to keep track of it Resist stores a single date in your device's iOS Keychain: when your trial began. It contains no personal information and no identifier of any kind.

You should know that Keychain items remain on your device after you delete an app. This is intentional — it stops the free trial from being restarted by reinstalling. If you would like that date removed, email us and we will tell you how.

If you subscribe, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Resist never sees your name, your email, your payment card, or your Apple Account details. There is no receipt server and no backend of any kind — the app simply asks iOS whether an active subscription exists and verifies the answer on the device. Anything Apple collects to process a purchase, a renewal, or a restore is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy and the App Store terms.

What Resist does not do

• No accounts, logins, or user profiles.
• No analytics, crash reporting, or usage telemetry.
• No advertising, and no advertising or tracking identifiers.
• No third-party SDKs — the app is built only with Apple's own frameworks.
• No selling, sharing, or disclosing of data to anyone, for any purpose.
• No access to your camera, photos, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, or Health data. Resist never requests these permissions.
• No artificial intelligence or machine learning applied to anything you write or record.

Children

Resist is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Deleting your data

Deleting Resist from your iPhone permanently removes your habit, your craving sessions, your relapses, your written reasons and notes, and your preferences. There is no cloud copy and no backup held by us, so nothing survives elsewhere.

There are two exceptions worth naming. The first is the trial date described above, which iOS keeps in the Keychain — email us if you would like it cleared. The second is any CSV you exported and shared yourself, which stays wherever you sent it.

Changes to this policy

If Resist ever changes how it handles information, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Meaningful changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
